The GE380-DF-G9-A INA is a spherical plain bearing. Spherical plain bearings are two-piece plain bearings. They have no rolling elements, but consist of an inner and outer ring. The inner ring has a convex outer surface. The outer ring has a concave inner surface. This construction gives spherical plain bearings their high load carrying capacity and capacity to accommodate misalignment.
The GE380-DF-G9-A INA has a steel-on-bronze sliding contact. The steel inner ring contacts the bronze surface of the outer ring. The steel-on-bronze sliding contact makes this bearing highly wear-resistant, providing low friction.
